English: This Distressed Sea Lion Pup was observed precisely at the point of the Azure Street entrance to Morro Strand State Beach, in en:Morro Bay, CA, 29 June 2009 close to 7PM. A number of people had already congregated and I found out that phone calls were earlier made to agencies including Pacific Wildlife Care at 805-543-9453 same as 1-805-543-WILD, and based on the reported observations a decision was made not to attempt a rescue. The visitors tending the pup had gone to Spencer's Market and bought a large platter of raw cod fish and fed hunks to the pup. The pup ate quite a bit and then seemed satiated. He regained strength, moved to the water and appeared to drink some water, and then scampered back into the surf evidently significantly re-energized.
