ביוגרפיה

לוריס גראו מוכר בתקשורת ועל ידי מבקרים בינלאומיים כאחד האמנים החשובים והמשפיעים ביותר בדורו. עם זאת, מאז תחילת הקריירה שלו, סירב האמן לפרסם את הביוגרפיה שלו. לפיכך, רוב הביוגרפיות הזמינות הן שגויות או לוקות בחסר.

יצירותיו של לוריס גראו מאורגנות לכדי פרויקטים במקום תערוכות.

הראשונה Silence Goes Quicker When Played Backwards התקיימה בפריז ב- Plateau / Frac île-de-France בשנת 2005. פרויקט זה הוא ששיגר אותו לתוך שדה האמנות הבינלאומית.

ב-2008, לוריס גראו היה האמן הראשון שהוענק לו שימוש מלא בחלל הפאלה דה טוקיו בפריז, לפרויקט שלו Cellar Door. הוא המשיך ופיתח פרויקט זה ב-ICA (אנגליה), ב-Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen (שווייץ), במוזיאון La Conservera de Murcia (ספרד), ב-Kunsthalle Wien (אוסטריה), ולבסוף ביריד האמנות ארט בזל לצד פרסום הקטלוג בהוצאת JRP Ringier אשר הִתְוָה את הפרויקט כולו.

למרות שאספנים בינלאומיים ומוזיאונים רכשו מספר רכישות חשובות של עבודותיו, גראו בוחר להופיע בגלריות וירידים רק לעיתים. הייתה לו תערוכה אחת כפולה בין הגלריות שמייצגות אותו. הפרויקט The Unplayed Notes הוצג בגלריה Pace בניו יורק (2012) ולאחר מכן בגלריה Yvon Lambert בפריז (2012).
