הקרב השלישי ביניהם נערך כחצי שנה אחר כך, על חגורת IMF, בבנגקוק תאילנד. הקרב נמשך חמישה סיבובים מלאים. בסיבוב השלישי קובאן גרם לחתך רציני מעל עינו הימנית של דקר במכת מרפק. החתך לא הפסיק לדמם במהלך כל הקרב והפריע מאוד לניהול הקרב של דקר. מגל שמאלי של קובן הוריד את דקר לספירת חובה בסיבוב הרביעי ובכך בעצם גמר את הקרב. קובן ניצח את הקרב בנקודות.
המפגש הבא בין השניים התקיים בפריז בשנת 1993 ולא התעלה לרמה של השניים הקודמים. דקר זכה בניצחון בנקודות.
