פאו פאו (Asimina triloba) הוא עץ פרי נשיר ממשפחת האנונות גובה העץ 4-8 מטר הפרחים בגודל 3-5 ס"מ ובצבע סגול עד חום ובריח בשר רקוב הפריחה באביב האבקה מתבצעת על ידי זבובים בפירות מבשילים בקיץ הקליפה ירוקה ובשר הפרי כתום צהוב, והוא מחולק לאונות שבכל אונה יש זרעים שצבעם חום.[1][2]
בטבע הפרי נאכל ע"י מגוון של יונקים, כמו [[דביבונ]]ים, [[שועלים אפורים]], [[אופוסומיים]], [[סנאיים]], [[דובים שחורים]]. [3]
