ג'ניפר (ג'ן) גונטר

ג'ן גונטר (באנגלית: Jen Gunther; נולדה בשנת 1966) היא רופאת נשים ומיילדת, אקטיביסטית בנושאי הנגשת מידע בנושאי בריאות ורפואת נשים, פמיניסטית וסופרת אמריקאית ממוצא קנדי.

ביוגרפיה עריכה

ג'ניפר גונטר נולדה בעיר ויניפג, בפרובינציה מניטובה, שבקנדה[1][2][3]. לאחר חויה חיובית שעברה, כמטופלת בבית חולים, בגיל אחת-עשרה, היא החליטה לבחור בקריירה בתחום הבריאות. בזמן ניתוח של קרע בטחול, גונטר התבוננה בצוות בית החולים מבצע את הניתוח בגופה ותוך כדי כך קיבלה הסבר על מה שקורה[4].

היא סיימה את לימודי הרפואה באוניברסיטת מניטובה בשנת 1990, ואת הכשרתה כרופאה מילדת וגינקולוגית בשנת 1995 רכשה באוניברסיטת מערב אונטריו בלונדון, אונטריו. לאחר מכן קיבלה מלגת השתלמות במחלות זיהומיות באוניברסיטת קנזס, והמשיכה בלימודיה גם לתחום ניהול הכאב[5][6][7][8].

שיפור מידע בריאותי העומד לרשות הציבור עריכה

בעזרת הטור שלה בניו יורק טיימס, הנוכחות המשמעותית במדיה החברתית, ובראיונותיה בתקשורת, גונטר מבטאת ביקורת חברתית ומפריכה טענות מפוקפקות של ידוענים בנושאי בריאות. יש לה גם ביקורת על הדרך הרשלנית בה מדווחים כלי תקשורת שונים על נושאי בריאות רבייה וחיסון[1][15][2]. גונטר פועלת לכך שכלי התקשורת החדשותיים יגלו יותר אחריות בסיקור נושאי בריאות, ודורשת לתת פחות משקל לעצות ידוענים ואחרים בענייני בריאות, היא מצפה מרופאים למצוא דרך לתקשר טוב יותר עם המטופלים שלהם[6].

ביוני 2019 פרסם הז'ורנל הרפואי לנסט מאמר דעה מאת גונטר הקורא לרמה גבוהה של כתיבה בנושאים רפואיים באינטרנט, על ידי כך שיהיו בו יותר מומחים רפואיים המעורבים בהפצת מידע רפואי הולם לציבור. היא כותבת בפירוש שלא יעלה על הדעת שמחקר איכותי שיכול להציל חיים ולהפחית סבל יהרס על ידי אלו המאמינים בקונספירציה רפואית או איזה ידוען (סלב) המעוניין למכור תוספי מזון."[6][16]

הבלוג שגונטר כותבת מאז 2011 נצפה על ידי כ-15 מיליון איש, חלק מהביקורות שלה יצרו מחלוקות בתקשורת[17][4][6]. בשנת 2019 יש לה 237,500 עוקבים בטוויטר, וסדרת טלוויזיה[18].

גונטר מביעה את דעותיה במגוון נושאים שמשפיעים על בריאות האישה, כולל הפלות[11], חיסון נגד נגיף הפפילומה HPV[19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28], והשימוש ברקמות עובר במחקר[17].

ביקורת על מוצרי גופ וגווינת פאלטרו עריכה

לגונטר ביקורת קשה על המוצרים שנמכרים על ידי חברת גופ (אנ') שבבעלות השחקנית גווינת' פלטרו[29][3][11][24]. הביקורת שלה על אחד ממוצרי גופ, ביצת אבן ג'ייד שנועדה לפי פאלטרו לחיזוק השרירים הטבעתיים[9], הגיעה לקהל נרחב הרבה יותר לאחר שפוסט בבלוג של גונטר ב-17 בינואר 2017[30], הועלה על ידי אחד מהעיתונים הצהובונים. פוסטים נוספים שלה[31] הביאו לתגובות בכתב של חברת גופ והתייחסו ישירות לביקורת של גונטר[32][33][6].

חילופי דברים אלו הביאו להתערבותו של טימותי קולפילד, ראש המחקר במדיניות וחוקי בריאות באוניברסיטת אלברטה. קולפילד תמך בעמדתה של גונטר והצהיר: שמחקרים מצאו כי לידוענים יש יכולת מוכחת להשפיע באופן שלילי על נושאים רבים; החל מבדיקות מוקדמות לגלוי סרטן, עישון וכלה באוכל שאנו אוכלים."[34]

באוקטובר 2018 פרסמו גונטר והארכאולוגית שרה פרקאק מחקר שחקר האם ביצי אבן הג'ייד אכן היו בשימוש בסין העתיקה, כפי שטוענת מחלקת השיווק של גופ. סקירת תיאור של 5,000 חפצים במאגרי מידע עיקריים של הארכאולוגיה הסינית לא מצאה אזכור לחפץ כזה[35][3].

תנ"ך הוואגינה עריכה

"תנ"ך הואגינה" פורסם באוגוסט 2019. הספר מציג בצורה ברורה ונגישה מידע רפואי על אנטומיית הרבייה הנשית ומפריך מיתוסים נפוצים. גונטר הסבירה שכתבה את הספר כתגובה על עודף מידע כוזב ומסוכן ברשת בנושא בריאות נשים[36][37][11][24]. בספר יש גם חלק המתמקד בטרנסים[7]. הספר הגיע כבר למקום הראשון ברשימת רבי המכר בקנדה[38]. מחלוקת פרצה כשפרסומים של המו"ל נחסמו בטוויטר בשל שימוש בשפה לא הולמת (כנראה בגלל המונח ואגינה). המודעות הורשו להופיע רק לאחר שיח מקוון נרחב[39][40].

ג'נספליינינג עריכה

באוגוסט 2019, שירות המדיה של- CBC Gem הקנדי השיק את סדרת הרשת החדשה של גונטר, Jensplaining (מהמלה mansplaining הסגברה), בה היא תמשיך בקמפיין נגד מסירת מידע כוזב, במיוחד בנושא זכויות רבייה ובריאות מיילדותית[3][11][41]. הסדרה היא בת עשרה פרקים, כאשר שלושת הראשונים מכסים נושאים כמו ווסת, בריאות וחיסונים[42][8].
