English: PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 23, 2010) Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Eric Wilkinson, from Ellsworth, Maine, greases a mixer assembly on an SH-60B Sea Hawk helicopter aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). Aviation mechanics are responsible for maintaining hydraulic systems, landing gear, fuselage and control surfaces. George Washington, the Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, is underway helping to ensure security and stability in the western Pacific Ocean.
