The Israel Genealogical Society is an association that researches, collects and documents genealogy of Jews in Israel and around the world. The association was founded in 1983 in Jerusalem. Additional roles of the association are to make genealogical information accessible to researchers and to collaborate with genealogy organizations around the world. The association is a non-profit organization (since 1987) operating branches in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Be'er Sheva, Petah Tikva, Modi'in, Ra'anana and Kiryat Tivon.

According to the organization's official website, the association's activities include monthly lectures at its various branches, which deal, among other things, with Jewish surnames, Jewish demography, memory preservation of families who perished in the Holocaust, and the preservation of the memory of Jewish families on the Internet. In addition, the association publishes a magazine.

The Israeli Genealogical Society is a full member of the International Association of Jewish Genealogy Organizations and cooperates with Beit Hatfutsot, pensioners' organizations and Jewish organizations in Israel and around the world.

The Chairman of the Association is Mr. Moshe Golan and the members of the Executive Committee are: Dr. Yaakov Bayer, Mr. Avraham Sasson, Mr. Danny Shahal, Mrs. Dvora Netzer and Mrs. Irit Shem Tov.
