The 1960 Dodge carried on the forward look styling of the 57-59 Dodge with tail fins at the rear and jet pod tail lights. Model names were changed tho and a shorter wheelbase Dodge Dart introduced. The base Matador and the upmarket Polara were the full size models. The slightly shorter wheelbase Dodge Dart was available in three models; The base Dart Seneca (2 and 4 door Sedan and Wagon) Mid Dart Pioneer (2 door Hardtop, 2 and 4 door Sedan and Wagon) And top of the range Dart Phoenix (2 door Convertible, 2 and 4 door Hardtop and 4 door Sedan) This is an Australian assembled PD4 Dodge Phoenix, (the Australian Dodge Phoenix was built from 1960-73) it was Chrysler Australia’s large luxury model and only offered only as a four-door sedan, with only the 318 cubic inch V8 engine. It was similar to the Canadian Dodge Dart, but with a Plymouth dashboard, it got the same side by side quad headlights, that unusual shaped grille and small fins at the rear. The PD4 was available in two trim levels, the De luxe and the Luxury liner.
