  • United States: Original photographic image is an unattributed publicity photograph of Evelyn Brent first published by Film Booking Offices in 1924-1926. FBO ceases to exist after 1928, having been subsumed into RKO. No claim of renewed copyright for this still photograph, nor any collection of still photographs, was filed in the U.S. Copyright Office by Film Booking Offices nor by RKO in the years 1950-1956, as would have been required to continue any possible copyright protection beyond 28 years from first publication. Therefore it is in the public domain in the United States.
  • European Union: The author of this photograph is anonymous or pseudonymous, and therefore any copyright expired 70 years after its first publication.
