Joseph Utz sent this v-mail to his wife, Marie Utz while he was overseas during World War II. "My Beautiful Sunshine: Your poor ole daddy is standing here dreaming about and worshiping his sunshine. My beautiful mommy rates with and above god, she is the most perfect and the most beautiful woman on this or any earth. If every soldier sailor (flat foot) and Marine had a wife as good, as perfect and as beautiful as you, this war would be finished in less than a month. I am very happy to learn you are feeling better and taking it easy. Please, darling, be very careful with our health because I want you to be my real mommy for years and years and years-forever. Please give my fondest regards to Jackson and pudgy-not Throckmorton, he is a little beast.
