ג'יימס אייברי (באנגלית: James Avery; 27 בנובמבר 1945 - 31 בדצמבר 2013) היה שחקן, מדבב ותסריטאי אמריקאי. ידוע בשל תפקידו כפיליפ בנקס, דודו חם המזג של ויל בקומדיית מצבים האמריקאית "הנסיך המדליק מבל אייר".

ביוגרפיה עריכה
ג'יימס אייברי נולד בפיוסוויל (אנ') בווירג'יניה, כעת ספוק (וירג'יניה) (אנ'), וגדל באטלנטיק סיטי ניו ג'רזי.
בשנים 1968 עד 1969 שירת במלחמת וייטנאם כחלק מהצי האמריקאי. בהמשך החל לכתוב תסריטים לטלוויזיה.
בשנת 1980 החל אייברי את קריירת המשחק שלו כאשר הופיע במספר תפקידי אורח בסדרות טלוויזיה. בשנת 1990 החל לשחק את דמותו של פיליפ בנקס, הדוד פיל, בסדרה הנסיך המדליק מבל אייר. אייברי התפרסם בעקבות כך, והדמות דורגה במקום ה-34 על ידי המגזין האמריקאי TV Guide במצעד האבות הטלוויזיוניים הגדולים ביותר.
תפקידים מוכרים נוספים ששיחק היו ד"ר קריפן בסדרה המפענחת; צ'ארלס הייסברט הסדרה The Division (אנ'); ומפקד באקדמיה לשוטרים בסדרה מופע שנות ה-70; CSI ו"האנטומיה של גריי".
אייברי דובב דמויות רבות והעיקריות הן שרדר (צבי הנינג'ה) בסדרה צבי נינג'ה (1987), וור משין בסדרה איירון מן (אנ'), ואת הדמות הארוד עזיבין בסדרת הטלוויזיה אלאדין.
בנוסף הנחה אייברי תוכנית טיולים.

חיים אישיים עריכה
בשנת 1998 אייברי התחתן, לא נולדו לו ילדים, אך היה אב חורג לבן של אשתו.
בשנת 2013 מת אייברי בגיל 68 בבית חולים בלוס אנג'לס כתוצאה מסיבוך בניתוח לב פתוח שעבר במקום.
