ריק סטיין
ריק סטיין (Christopher Richard (Rick) Stein) (נולד ב-4 בינואר 1947) OBE הוא שף אנגלי, מחבר ספרי בישול, בעל מסעדות ומגיש תוכניות טלוויזיה.
קורות חייו עריכה
סטיין נולד באוקספורדשייר באנגליה. הוא בוגר ניו קולג' באוקספורד. לאחר לימודיו הוא התיישב בעיירת החוף פדסטאו שבמחוז קורנוול, בה כ-3,000 תושבים בלבד, שם בילה חופשותיו כילד.
בשנת 1974 סטיין החל בעסקי המזון. הוא מתמחה בעיקר במאכלי דגים והיום הוא מפעיל במקום שלוש מסעדות, ביסטרו, בית קפה, חנות מעדני דגים, חנות לדברי מאפה ובית ספר לבישול. השפעתו על כלכלתה של פדסטאו כה גדולה, עד שלעיתים הוא מכונה בשם "פדסטיין".
לצד עסקיו סטיין הפך למגיש טלוויזיה פופולרי של תוכניות מזון, ודמותו נראית לרוב לצד כלבו מסוג ג'ק ראסל טרייר. סטיין כתב והגיש מספר סדרות בישול ברשת הטלוויזיה BBC, ביניהן: "טעם הים של ריק סטיין", "פירות הים", "מסע פירות ים", "מזון טרי", "מדריך לאוהבים על פירות ים", "גיבורי אוכל" ובשנת 2005, "מסע צרפתי" שבו יצא למסע גסטרונומי החוצה את צרפת על גבי דוברה מבורדו למרסיי. תוכניתו האחרונה היא סיור גסטרונומי באגן הים התיכון. כל אחת מן הסדרות לוותה בספר בישול. ספרו של סטיין "בישול פירות ים אנגלי" זכה בשנת 1989 בפרס ספר הבישול הטוב של השנה.
