Hi, I noticed you removed this interwiki link. Well, our אדלמן has both Adelmann and Edelman articles, and therefore the closest inter-article is en:Edelman, and אדלמן should be linked to it. הגמל התימני (צריכים עזרה בגרפיקה?) (12.08.2008 02:39)
- Yeah, but this linking leads to lots of problems on Wikipedias where there are disambig pages for both Edelman and Adelmann (and in case of the German and Russian disambig pages for Edelman this actually lead to a bot removing the proper interwiki links to other Edelman disambigs). Unfortunately the current interwiki link system doesn't allow the type of neural-network-like structures some people like; it's always 1:1 and if you have a page here dealing with both Edelman and Adelmann and another Wikipedia has one for Edelman and one for Adelmann, there is simply no way to interwikilink them, unless you want to confuse bots and create unnecessary work for people like me trying to clean the mess up. - I'm partly aware of this problem, but I think that when there is a very close meaning (like, most "אדלמן"s are Edelman, just like this case) we should iw-link to Edelman from אדלמן. I think that now, after reading your reply, it is best indeed that there would be no interwiki, and I hope Rachel (the user that added it) will forgive me. הגמל התימני (צריכים עזרה בגרפיקה?) I hope so too. We just have to keep in mind that different projects have different customs; I myself are not 100% pleased with the fact that the German Wikipedia has separate name disambig pages for de:Adleman, de:Adelman, de:Adelmann, de:Edelman and de:Edelmann, since it's mostly the same sound despite the different spelling, but that's how it is.
