ISACA הוא איגוד מקצועי בינלאומי המתמקד בניהול IT. בתיק מס הכנסה שלו הוא מוכר כ-Information Systems Audit and Control Association, למרות ש-ISACA כעת הולך אחר ראשי התיבות בלבד[1][2][3].
היסטוריה
עריכהISACA נוצרה בארצות הברית בשנת 1967[2], כאשר קבוצה של יחידים העוסקים בבקרת ניטור מערכות מחשוב פיתחו ביקורת נוקבת על תהליכים בתחומם בארגון בו עבדו. הם זיהו צורך למוקד מידע והכוונה מרכזי בתחום. ב-1969, סטוארט טינואר, שעבד בזמנו בחברת Douglas Aircraft, הקים את הקבוצה תחת הכותרת EDP Auditors Association (EDPAA)[4]. טירנואר שירת כיו"ר הארגון בשלוש השנים הראשונות מהווסדו.
בשנת 1976 ייסד הארגון מוסד חינוכי כדי לתת גג לפעילות רחבת היקף שמטרתו להרחיב את הידע והערך לתחומי ממשל ושליטה במערכות מחשוב.
הארגון הפך ל Information Systems Audit and Control Association בשנת 1994[5]. בסביבות שנת 2008 השיל הארגון את השם הארוך ונשאר רק עם ראשי התיבות ISACA[6].
כיום
עריכהISACA משרת כיום (2019) מעל 110,000 מוסמכים מקצועיים[7] במעל 180 מדינות. מגוון התארים אליהם ניתן לקבל הסמכה מ ISACA כולל בין השאר את:

- IS security professional
- regulator
- CIO - chief information officer
- CISO - chief information security officer
- internal auditor
המוסמכים עובדים כמעט בכל התחומים הקיימים של התעשייה. ישנה רשת של פרקי ISACA עם מעל 200 פרקים שנוסדו בכ-80 מדינות. "פרקים" מספקים הכשרה, שיתוף משאבים, הסמכה, רשתות חברתיות ויתרונות אחרים.
