אני חושב שהם בקשו לתרגם, הם רצו שנעשה משהו כזה: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Ambassade, או זה http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Botschaft ולא שנתרגם את דף המטה ויקי.

שגרירות ויקימדיה עריכה

בדף המשתמש של נדב יש קישור לדף שמרכז את שגרירויות ויקימדיה, ובכל שפה עם יותר מ-10 ערכים יש ערך מקומי של השגרירות, והתפלאתי לראות שבגרסה העברית אין.

אני מציע להקים את ויקיפדיה:שגרירות ויקימדיה. בכותרת צריך לכתוב "ברוכים הבאים לשגרירות ויקימדיה בעברית" והסבר (ראו את הגירסה האנגלית שיש לה קישור בהמשך לדוגמה), בכל שפה בה אנחנו מציעים תמיכה. לאחר מכן יש לכתוב כותרת לכל שפה בה יש ויקיפדים עבריים שמוכנים לעזור, ולכתוב בשפה המקומית "מי יכול לעזור לי? ביכולתכם לשאול את אחד מהמשתמשים להלן בשפתכם". נדב לדוגמה צריך להופיע שם. אם אתם רוצים עזרה באנגלית או בצרפתית, אין לי בעיה גם להיות ברשימה ולענות על שאלות כמיטב הבנתי, למרות שלדעתי עדיף שיהיה מישהו עם קצת יותר נסיון וידע.

זה לא מראה כל ההכרחיות של הדף, זה מראה שאנחנו לא מבזבזים זמן על דפים מיותרים. היו מקרים שבם הגיעו דוברי שפה זרה למזנון או לדלפק ייעוץ ושם שאלו את שאלותיהם, ושם ענו להם. מצד שני, אם זה כבר כתוב בשפה זרה, אפשר לעשות העתק-הדבק, להוסיף קצת עברית, קצת שמות של ויקיפדים דוברי שפה זרה, קצת חומוס-צ'יפס-סלט וכך סיימנו, כך שזה לא ממש עבודה רבה. צודק. עם זאת יש מקום לשיפור: דבר ראשון אף אחד בחיים לא יגיע לעמוד הזה. כמו שאתה רואה ב"שיחה" יש רק דיון אחד והוא בעברית. צריך לקשר את הערכים בשפות אחרות אליו.

הוספתי את עצמי כשגריר באנגלית, בגלל בעיה טכנית לכתוב בסוף הרשימה (הפיירפוקס שלי השתגע כנראה) כתבתי את עצמי באמצע, סליחה על גניבת התהילה.

Hello. I am looking for the speedy deletion equivalent in this Wikipedia (similar to en:WP:CSD in the English one). Would someone give me some insight about how to tag articles for deletion? I usually search for spam and sometimes need to tag them for deletion. Right now, I found this one that needs to be deleted, but I am not sure how to tag it. Hello. To delete tag an article for deletion within your own "space" use this {{למחוק}} to the article. Hello again. To do this, i.e. to delete an article from the namespace, you will need an administrator to do this for you. In the Hebrew Wiki we do not use the same tag in the namespace for that end, so you will have to write your request in a special page designated for requests from administrators (the equivalent of en:Wikipedia:Requests for administrator attention). the page is ויקיפדיה:בקשות ממפעילים and the different sections are for different kinds of request. You are interested in the first one, so write your request, including a link, a short explanation why, and a signature, here: ויקיפדיה:בקשות ממפעילים#בקשות מחיקה. err... not exactly correct. You can use the same tag and the sysops will Delete it. The Requests for administrator attention, however, is the best place to make this happen fast, either on the mainspace or the namespace. Hello, I'm an administrator for the English Wikipedia. (I apologize, but I do not speak Hebrew.)

An image of Gary Gygax (גארי גייגקס) was uploaded to the English Wikipedia some time ago, and it was copied to the Hebrew Wikipedia. Unfortunately, we discovered that it is a copyright violation, since Mr. Gygax is only willing to license it for use on Wikipedia exclusively, and does not allow third-party use. If the Hebrew Wikipedia doesn't allow such images (and I don't think they do), then I suppose the image should be deleted here. I left a {{copyvio}} notice on the image, but it didn't it didn't seem to work. Could someone take care of this for me? If you have any questions, you can contact me at w:en:User:Quadell. Thanks!

אישית אני חושב שהתוכן למעלה נותן מענה לענין הזה. מי שמגיע לעמוד, ילחץ על שם השפה שלו בתוכן ויגיע להודעה המתאימה. יש לזכור שגם באינטרוויקי בערכים רגילים, השפות לא מסודרות לפי הא"ב המקומי, אלא לפי הקידומת של שתי אותיות השפה. יפנית נמצאת ב-JA ולא בניהונגו, ופינית ב-FI ולא בסואומי. יש גם וויקיפדיות שנותנות קדימות לשפה קרובה כמו הסקנדינביות ומתעלמות מסדר הא"ב, וגם אנחנו עושים את זה בעצם עם אנגלית. עם זאת, אם רוצים לסדר לפי סדר האינטרוויקי, אני לא אתנגד. ‏Ori~‏ • שיחה • המורשת העולמית. פשוט עולמית! 09:05, 27 בדצמבר 2007 (IST)

Hello! We are having a bit of a problem at the Swedish Wikipedia over a sign ([1]) in Jerusalem, mostly whether or not it says Assyrian in all languages or Syrian in some. I was hoping you might be able to clarify. First, what does the text in Hebrew say? Second, if possible, what does the text in Arabic say? And third, does anyone know by any chance if this is what it looks like now? [2] If this is the wrong place to ask this then please move it. Than you for your answers! It helps! I do not speak any Arabic myself, but it is now being claimed by someone (who doesn't speak Arabic either) that a(l) sirian probably means of Syrian or something like that and not Assyrian. Are you sure of your interpretation? Also the same person is speculating whether or not the term for the people Syrians/Syriacs exists in Hebrew? Please note also that by Syrian it is referring to the Christian people Syrians or Syriacs and not the people from the modern state of Syria. Terribly sorry to bring all the trouble to you but it would be good if we at least knew what is what to help solve the conflict. מצד אחד, קשה לדמיין שיש הרבה ישראלים שילמדו את השפה, כי היא לא שימושית כל כך. מי שרוצה לנסוע לברצלונה לצורך עסקים, לימודים או עיסוק באמנות יכול להסתפק בספרדית, שתהיה שימושית גם בטיול בדרום אמריקה. This is my last effort, and I hope that some Hebrew Wikipedians could be interested in this problem and will help us to remove these embarassing profascistic contents from the Croatian Wikipedia.

Hi,

This feature is very convenient. Since it was introduced i can't remember seeing an admin that used the other method. As someone who usually checks deleted versions to see that they have been deleted according to policy I'm using the viewing feature quite often and can't tell that it caused any problems. All version are displayed correctly without any break of the page history and difflinks. I do not believe we've met the described bug in he wikipedia (I would've known if we did). The only topic which caused some problems was that the addition of checkboxes to the history tab next to each entry confused some editors, this was solved by introducing a JS script to hide these checkboxes until a special button was clicked. There is a way to do things. Showing the Dallay Lama is one thing and showing the flag of the state of Israel (or any other state) torn on the ground is another. Layout issue with English preference setting עריכה

I'm an editor on English WP who likes to try and use Wikipedia to explore languages he doesn't know very well. I have used the Preferences section to set the UI to be in English, but that doesn't necessarily work with the articles. The article on Israel – ישראל – has buttons in the top-left hand corner (a rosette to mark that it is featured and a lock to say it is protected, I think) but they appear in the same place as the article title. You can see what this looks like here - [7]. This is probably an issue for other right-to-left languages like Arabic as well.

I am writing because I am trying to get information about a recent controversay involving a popular Israeli author named Ram Frost (?) who wrote a popular novel that was withdrawn from circulation because it was offensive to some people who thought characters were based on them. I probably do not have the facts exactly correct. is there a wikipedia page on this author or this controversy? thanks.

Hello. I don't know any Hebrew (though I am very interested in learning!). I recently added a new picture (File:Dylan and Cole Sprouse with Piper.jpg at Commons) to the article for Dylan and Cole Sprouse (דילן וקול ספראוס) and tried to add a caption. The caption I used is, in English, "Dylan and Cole Sprouse with Piper Reese" which came through Google Translate as "דילן וקול ספראוס עם פייפר ריס". The English article uses the caption "Cole (left) and Dylan (right), with Piper Reese at the 2009 Power of Youth event". Most other languages either use that caption or they omit the left and right and/or the "2009 Power of Youth event" part. I was wondering if a better caption/translation could be supplied. The English version of the survey is at meta:Survey of how money should be spent/Questions/en. The Hebrew version, currently 83% complete, is at meta:Survey_of_how_money_should_be_spent/Questions/he. If you can help, you would be very welcome!

Translations are done using the "translation tool". If you go to this special page, all you have to do is select your language from the pull-down menu and click "fetch". It will bring up a table. You can easily see what has been translated and what has not. Click on the blue text in the left column next to content that has not been translated to open up an editing box. Above the box, the English version is shown, and you can simply enter in your language translation beneath it.

Dear friends; I want to let you know about short links in general and short links to he.Wikipedia in particular: http://he.wikipedia.org/?curid=22476#shortestlinks is a shorter version of http://he.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?curid=22476#shortestlinks . Both are redirecting here. Both are based on "wgArticleId" but the second omits "w/index.php". I have posted questions about the stability of the shorter links at http://www.mediawiki.org/?curid=84252 .
I hope that this is of any interest for the Wikipedian community at the Hebrew Wikipedia. Please inform who ever be involved in this technical questions here.

Hello, I am about to write an article about Akrav israchanani, an extinct scorpion from the Ayyalon cave, Israel, for the German Wikipedia. One of the most recent and most comprehensive scientific publications about the habitat is an M. Sc. thesis from Hebrew University, Jerusalem, 2011:

Hello once again. In the meantime I have received the English abstract from an user, which includes the information I was searching for. Gilgamesh mailed me at 21:57 h, that he has sent someone to get the thesis (and by the way, the message above from 22:57 says, according to Google, "I have it"). And a German user is about to check his possibilities, presumably via the academic channel. If it happens that the full thesis comes in, I will certainly take use of it (with better help than Google translator, of course). On the other hand, my most urgent need for information is satisfied. The Hebrew Wikipedia will be better off, if i do not try to write an article in Hebrew. But I think about writing an English version, once I have finished with the cave and its faunistic elements.
